About the School
Since 2015, DLD College London has had a new location right in central London, overlooking Westminster Bridge and River Thames. A number of tourist attractions are concentrated around the school, many of them that have played an important role in the British history. DLD College also owns some of the most modern classrooms, sports facilities, dining room, Wi-Fi, all in the same building.

Accommodation
Students are accommodated in the recently built DLD College. The rooms are individual, with en-suite bathroom. Free access to washing machines is provided.

Sports and Free Time
The school has a dance studio, a gym and students can practice various sports nearby. In the evening, an entertainment programme is available, including disco and talent shows. During their free time, students can explore the area around the campus

Excursions
On Saturdays and Sundays, one-day trips to destinations such as Oxford, Cambridge, Windsor, Winchester, Brighton or Canterbury are organized. During the week, the programme provides four half-day visits to London's major tourist attractions: London Eye, Parliament Palace, Westminster Abbey, London Tower, Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace, Madame Tussauds and other London museums as well as shopping trips at Covent Garden.

Types of Courses

The course is based on the CLIL method - Content and Language Integrated Learning. Students study different school subjects according to their interests and at the same time improve their language skills. The program is also recommended for native English speakers. Students are divided into age groups rather than English proficiency. The course is recommended for students who intend to follow GCSE, IB or A-Level programmes or those who are currently attending one of these programmes. The course combines theory with practice. Every Friday, lectures are held by experts and professionals from various fields (literature, TV, physics, cinema, business, PR, etc.)

Preparation and Recap for IGCSE (12 - 14 years old): the program includes a wide range of school subjects: English, Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Humanities, Arts. In addition, learners will familiarize themselves with Knowledge Theory, IT technologies, effective documentation and learning methods, presentation support techniques.

Preparation and Recap for IB / A-Level (15 - 17 years old): students choose 4 subjects each week, depending on their interests and needs, from: art, theater, music, biology, chemistry, physics, business, economics, geography, history, politics, English, essay writing , presentations, grammar, literature, foreign languages, mathematics, IT, media, psychology, knowledge theory.

Specialized modules: designed as an optional summer course or as a stand-alone course, they target young people aged over 15 and B2:

  • Preparation for IELTS (July 20th - 28th): intensive course with 33 hours per week for students wishing to prepare for the IELTS exam. The course focuses on the exam format and on the four basic components: speech, reading, writing and listening. At the end of the course, you can also take the exam. The date is fixed on the last day of the course, on Saturday, July 28th.
  • Medical Studies (July 6th - 20th, July 27th - August 10th): the course is specially designed for those who plan to apply to medicine. The interactive and innovative program is created and sustained by students in medicine at UK universities who will share the learners with their experience. Experiments are made in biology and chemistry, concepts such as first aid, medical ethics are studied. Students visit a medical institution during the course and attend a workshop held by a doctor. Participants also get acquainted with the BMAT and UKCAT exams, the format of the motivation letter, support interview simulations so they can get in touch with everything they need to apply to medicine in the UK.

Day Camp (7-12, 13-17 years old): children who are in London with their parents or relatives can sign up for Day Camp (no accommodation and transfers). Those aged 5 to 12 are enrolled in English (20 hours/week) in the morning (8:15 - 12:30), the minimum required is A2. Students aged 13-18 years can participate in the academic program and activities from Monday to Friday between 8:00 and 20:00.

Adults Course (20 hours/week): during the summer, DLD College also organizes English language courses for adults in small groups of up to 8 students, the minimum required level being B1. Emphasis is placed on improving communication skills, and teaching is focused on CLIL - Content and Language Integrated Learning. Current topics, global issues are discussed, with the aim of exercising listening, comprehension and speaking skills, as well as enriching and consolidating the vocabulary.
