About the School
Located in the middle of the South Downs National Park, the University of Sussex combines modern architecture with the beauty of green meadows, resembling a small rural setting quite close to Brighton, making it the ideal place for students aged 15-20. The campus has restaurants, an internet room, supermarket, pharmacy, bars, post office, ATMs, football and tennis courts, a fitness room and Wi-Fi.

Accommodation                                       
All students are accommodated on the campus in individual rooms with en-suite facilities. Students receive 22-pound daily vouchers, which they can use at the seven restaurants on the campus.

Leisure and trips
In the afternoon, students enjoy leisure time. Every evening, entertainment programmes are organized to enable participants to get acquainted with student life at Brighton University and to create lasting friendships. Taking part in these activities is not compulsory, students having the freedom to organize their own schedule. Saturday and Sunday trips to Brighton, South East England, London (Buckingham Palace, Madame Tussauds, Natural History Museum, Westminster Abbey and many others) are organized.

About the Courses
The goal of the program is for participants to improve their language skills, to improve their communication skills in a multicultural environment and to get acquainted with the atmosphere of a British university.

Intensive Course: Depending on the number of students enrolled, they can be divided into two age groups, ranging from 15-17 year-olds and 18-20 year-olds. The study programme consists of 3 main modules:

  • Language skills (13 hours/week) - pronunciation, accent, vocabulary enrichment, correct use of lexical and grammatical structures in formal and informal contexts.
  • Communication skills (7 hours/week) - each student chooses 5 subjects and, depending on the number of students enrolled, courses are held: critical thinking, essay writing, presentation skills, debates, case studies, negotiations, meetings, creative writing, report writing or business etiquette.
  • Professional skills (13 hours/week) - each student has to choose 4 subjects and their deployment depends on the number of participants enrolled: coaching, finance, new technologies, contemporary history, healthy eating, entrepreneurship, international politics, cinema art or right.

Preparation for IELTS: Instead of linguistic and communication training, students can choose 20 hours of IELTS  training, working on each component of the exam, learning strategies and techniques to get the best result and giving mock exams.

  • The IELTS training module lasts 2 weeks and includes the IELTS exam (July 20, July 27, August 10 test). Departure is done on Sundays, with the extra night and departure transfer included.
