About the School
The camp uses the facilities of two colleges of the Oxford University - St Hugh’s and Wycliff Hall. Both campuses are close to the city center. St Hugh's campus was built in 1866 and is famous for its large gardens. The building has been renovated between 1998 - 2000 and it offers the students a mix of historical architecture and modern equipments. Wycliff Hall is the most central campus of the Oxford University and is situated only 10 minutes away from the city center.The two campuses offer excellent accomodation and study facilities. The students will have access to accomodation, classrooms, cafeteria, sportive facilities.

Accomodation

  • Wycliffe Hall: the rooms have 1, 2, or 3 beds and a shared bathroom.
  • St. Hugh's: the rooms have 1 or 2 beds with shared bathrooms. Once a week, laundry service is offered.

Sport and leisure

The university's sport facilities include football, basketball and tennis courts. Participants have access to: pool, gym, yoga, dance, art and drawing studios. In the afternoon, cultural tours and visits to the  touristic attractions in Oxford are organised. In the evening, the participants can enjoy talent shows, discos, karaoke, quizzes and many other activities.

Trips

The program includes two day trips on Mondays and Fridays to Brighton, Bath, Stratford-upon-Avon, Bristol, London.

About the Course

The program is suitable for those who want to apply to a prestigious university. The course includes 20 hours of studying the subject they chose, 5 hours of preparation for university and 4 hours of academic workshops in order to prepare for the themed trip. At the end of the course the students will have to make a presentation on the subject they chose to study.

  • Preparation for University: The module includes presentations oon the chosen topic, held by specialists who will offer them guidance regarding the university admission and 3 optionals, between: debates and public speaking, academic writing, preparation for the language exams  FCE, CAE, CPE, IELTS or TOEFL; critical thinking.
  • Academic Trip: every course includes a full-day trip related to the subject they chose to study

Every two weeks, they can choose a subject out of the folowing:

  • English language: the program includes 20 hours of English study a week. Additional to the basic language skills, the participants will study presentation techniques, debates and argumentstion.
  • Business and leadership: this  program is suitable for the future antrepreneurs and leaders. It focuses of creating a sucessfull business.
  • Politics and Economy: Students will learn key concepts of the management and analytical process of the economical and political systems. They will look at the ways in which economy influences the political thinking and ideology.
  • Engineering Sciences: the program focuses on innovation, design and construction. The studied subjects are from the field of construction, electrical engineering, civil engineering. The students will get familiar with bridge, tower and building construction.
  • Medicine: the participants will have to deal with various hypotetical and practical situations that will help them learn how to investigate and diagnose their patients. Atthe end of the course they will receive a certificate in first aid.
  • International Affairs: during the program, participants will develop communication, critical thinking and diplomacy skills. They will analyse global issues, will work on projects and make decisions.
  • Law: participants will get familiar with techniques of argumentation, presentations, rhetoric and law understanding. The whole group will take part in role plays where everyone will have a different role: lawyer, judge, culprit, prosecutor, witness.
  • Literature and creative writing: during te course the participants will explore different techniques used by writers to write successfull novels. For every component of creative writing, the students will create a story and will present it to their colleagues.
  • Art history: participants will study all the aspects of modern art: paiting, sculpture, architecture and design.
  • Academic development: The participants will choose a different subject every week. They will go on an academic trip for the first subject they choose and there will be a final presentation at the end of every week.
