About the school

The school from Munchen was established in 1977 and is located clos to the Main Train Station and the pedestrian area of the infamous Karlsplatz, known in the past as the most crowded place in Europe. Here is the starting point of the greatest commercial street in the city, which is full of boutiques and universal shops. The school base has two floors and includes 11 spacious classrooms, a modern multimedia center with 7 computers, a library, internet cafe with 5 computers, a shared room with beverage machines and a spacious terrace with ping pong tables. The students have access to internet through cable and wireless.

Accommodation

The students under the age of 18 will be accomodated in a host family or at the A&O** standard hotel for youth.

  • Host Family: The host families live in different areas of Munchen. The trip to school can take between 40 - 50 minutes by public transportation. The rooms are individual or double with private bathroom. The breakfast is provided and for an extra fee half board can also be provided.
  • Individual room in apartment (18+): if they choose this option, the students will be hosted in individual rooms, in apartments or studios and will use the same batheroom as the host, owner or other people of different age and nationalities that might not be enrolled at the language course.
  • A&O** youth standard hotel: the hotel is located at about 5 minutes away by public transportation from school and 10 minutes away from the city center. The closest subway station is Hackerbruecke. The rooms are individual with private bathroom. They have a wardrobe, TV and balcony. The breakfast is provided For an exra fee, wireless internet and bikes for a determined period are provided.
  • Apartment with a bedroom (18+):  The apartments have a surface of about 20 meters. Towels, bedding, cutlery, fridge, microwave, washing machine and other facilities are provided.  The trip to school takes about 30 minutes by public transportation. Leisure and trips

The cultural program is rich and includes visits to the most important touristic attractions such as the Modern Art Museum, the English Park, Bayern football club and others. The school organizes trips to the Bavarian Alps, to the Chiemsee, Amersee and Starnberger See lakes, to cities like Augsburg, Regensburg, Regensburg and Salzburg as well as to the Neuschwanstein castle.

The courses take place in the morning and afternoon, on request.

  • General course: 20 hours / week in groups of 12 - 15 students and takes place in the morning or in the afternoon according to students'level. The course is practical and includes grammar, vocabulary, reading, conversation and phonetics.
  • Standard course: 24 hours / week. Additional to the general course, there are 2 extra hours twice a week.
  • Intensive course: 28 ours / week. Additional to the general course, there are 2 extra hours four times a week that take place in the afternoon and are focused on extra grammar exercises.
  • German for business: includes 20 hours of study a week. The course is a xombnation of general german and business terminology. The students and teachers will use modern study materials and multimedia. The minimum level for enrollment is B1.
  • Preparation course for DaF: The school is an official examination center for the DaF test which is required for admission to German universities. The course has a length of 4 weeks and includes 20 hours / week and includes 20 hours a week of specialized preparation that helps the students get familiar with the form and requirements of the exam, including as well examples of tests. The minimum level required is C1. To determine the language level, the participants can take a language test before the enrollment at the IntergalEdu offices. Those interested can take the DaF test at the end of the course after a previous enrollment 3 days before the start of the course. The dates of the exam are: 12 Feb.; 10 Apr.; 23 May; 18 Jul.; 12 Sep.; 5 Nov.
