About school
Millfield School is a hostel type school, located in the south-west of England, near the historic towns of Glastonbury and Bath. It was founded in 1935 and is one of the most prestigious schools in the UK, benefiting from excellent sports facilities. The school has modern campuses and large green areas, well mantained lakes and gardens, sculptures and impressive buildings, Meyer theatre hall and a concert hall.

Accommodation
The modern school campuses offer rooms with 1-2 beds and shared bathroom on each floor. Some of the single rooms have own bathroom.

Trips
On Wednesday there is a full day trip to Oxford, Exeter, Bath, Bristol, amusement park, Cardiff Castle, Science Museum. On Saturday the students will visit cities like Glastonbury, Bath, Wookey Hole Caves, Fleet Air Arm Museum.

Additional trips
For an additional fee, it is possible to make a two-day trip to London and Oxford and also pay a visit to Alton Towers amusement park. The fee includes two nights accommodation, full board and attractions entrance fees. Departure is on Friday afternoon and the return on Sunday evening. Students are accompanied during the the trips by the school staff members.

  • Weekend in London (26th-28th of July): participants will visit the West End neighbourhood, famous museums and galleries and will watch musicals. They will also visit historical touristic attractions, will admire the view from London Eye and will have the chance to go shopping.
  • Weekend in Oxford (9th-11th of August): participants will visit the famous Oxford University and other touristic attractions and will have the opportunity to ride the popular boats on the Isis river.

About the courses

  • Global Young Leaders (14+): the program is destined to those who are studying the English language and it consists in 20 hours of study every week.The participants ill discuss topics like society, leadership, tolerance, global warming, human rights, the future. Every day they will discuss about a different tpic. During this program they will improve their communication abilities through rople play, debates and team work. At the end of the program all participants will know how to be productive and successful. At this program here will also take part native English students who want to improve in these areas.
  • Preparation for the Cambridge Exams (12-17 years, 7th-28th of July): the exams will take place at the end of the course. The program includes Englis language classes, emphasizing the components of the exam and the tips offered by teachers in order for sudents to pass it successfully. Before the start of the program, they will have to take a test to determine their English level.
  • Preparation for Applying to a British School : this course has been designed to fulfill the needs of those who want to take the GCSE exms in order to apply to a British school.The participants will receive sample exams, will aquire presentation skills, will improve their communication and writing skills and will study specialised literature. 
  • English and sports or arts 12-17 years old: The camp includes 20 hours of English per week Participants will practice all components of the language: writing, reading, listening and speaking.  Before the start of the program, they will have to take a test to determine their English level. in order to form the study groups.
  • Horse riding (every week) - specialized courses for advanced learners, which take place in an indoor sports base or outdoor, inside the school premises. Beginners are not accepted. Students learn notions about horse care.
  • Football (every week) - training sessions are suitable for girls and boys and cover all levels. Trainers are UEFA accredited. Different skills are practiced.
  • Golf (every week) - is developed under specialized instructors guidance, who are certified by the Professional Golfers' Association. The school has three golf courses and one dedicated to training.
  • Martial arts (July 8 - August 5) ​​- training is provided by experts for different styles.
  • Fashion (every week) - Study fashion history, design and various fashion styles. Students learn how to choose the right style for them. All have an input in organising a fashion show.
  • Arts (every week) - Study modeling, sketch, painting. At the end of the program, students will organise an exhibition to show their works. Students have at their disposal all the Millfield art studio facilities.
  • Hockey (every week) - training takes place on grass. Students have the opportunity to improve their individual technique, learn team game strategies.
  • Basketball (July 22 - August 5) ​​- training takes place both outdoors and indoors and competitions are organised. Professional training sessions are offered only in a certain period and are designed for experienced learners.
  • Badminton (August 5 - 19) - training is conducted by experienced instructors and includes the game technique and study of various techniques used in competitions. Students learn the rules of this game which requires both insight and precision, strength and finesse.
  • Squash (August 5 - 12) - Millfield owns a modern squash centre. The training sessions are suitable for students with previous experience. They learn individual and two players game techniques. 
  • Dance (every week) - the lessons are suitable for all levels. Different dance styles are practiced.
  • Triathlon (August 8 - 29) - training sessions are suitable only for students with good physical condition and include: poligon shooting tir, 50 meters swimming, running on a 400 meters track, sword game.
  • Chess (15 - 29 July) - Perfect your acuity with the royal game! This course will teach you all aspects of the game, tactics and useful tips. Competitions between students are being organised.
  • Tennis (8 July-12 August) - training sessions are designed for advanced learners, and are held indoor and outdoor.
  • Swimming (every week) - the swimming lessons are suitable for advanced learners including all swimming styles and are taking place in the school 50 meters swimming pool.
  • Athletics (July 8 - August 5) ​​- various track and field disciplines are practiced, under professional trainers supervision.
  • Cuisine (every week) - food preparation and serving at the table is being studied, students receiving advice on healthy diet and different diets. Also are considered the good manners during meals.
  • Fencing (29 July - 12 August) - The training sessions take place in a specially designed room. Full equipment is provided. Previous experience is required.
  • Musical (every week) - Stage, acting, dance and music techniques are taught. Students prepare a show which will be played in the Meyer theatre within the school.
  • Rock Academy (every week) - the course includes theory and practical music notions, musical composition, interpretation and work within the band.
  • Film Academy (every week) - the course includes filming techniques, directing methods, movie production and presentation skills.
  • Software (every week) - the students acquire basic skills for coding and computer programming
  • Sport and entertainment (every week) - the program does not include specific training sessions, the various activities being practiced more as a hobby under the supervision of an adult and these can be: team sports, swimming, aerobics, archery, drama, dance, athletics, arts, football, tennis and others. Every day are offered a variety of activities.
  • Mind, Body & Soul (8 July - 5 August) - students learn about relaxation techniques for a full mind, body and soul experience.
  • Taste of Britain (8 July - 5 August) - students get to know about the culture and british lifestyle.
