About the School
d'Overbroeck's is a renowned private school near downtown Oxford. Every summer, courses with an innovative structure are organized here. The course is held in the new Sixth Form centre, completed in September 2017. The campus features the latest facilities, making it an ideal environment for the Young Professionals course. Students have access to the library, art studio, common recreation area and entertainment hall.

Excursions and Sports
Thematic trips are organized according to the weekly academic schedule. Students are always busy and entertained both inside and outside the classrooms. Every afternoon and evening, various activities are organized, such as team games, talent evening, barbecue, karaoke, disco and more.

Accommodation on Campus
Campuses are located near the school. Rooms have two or three beds. A limited number of individual rooms are provided. Bathrooms are individual or shared, located on each floor. Students have breakfast and dinner on campus and lunch at the school.

About the Courses

The course is suitable for students who are already planning their career. The program combines English language classes with an introduction to specially selected vocational subjects, to help students make career choices. Students can choose to study for two weeks one of the following areas:

  • Business and Finance: Students learn how to create a business plan on their own, how to launch a new products or service. Topics such as the trends of the 21st century, expansion methods, supply chains, corporate social responsibility, and others are addressed. Case studies are also conducted about leaders and companies.
  • Introduction to Medicine: The program includes identifying diseases, discussing ethical rules in medicine and a scientific perspective on human anatomy. Among the topics studied are medical biology, anatomy, modern medicine, global epidemics. Practical laboratory experiments are also carried out.
  • Performing Arts: A variety of topics are explored, such as writing a script, creating and developing characters, contemporary music, changing theatre trends, acting methods and more. Students also learn to stage their own production.
  • Media and Communication: Techniques and ways in which modern media reflects and influences the world around us, technology in marketing techniques, target audience, TV productions and more are studied and analyzed. Students develop and film an ad for a new product.
  • Engineering: The program includes mathematical understanding, the manufacturing process, the thermal conductivity coefficient, material use, testing and investigation. Students learn to design and build their own battery powered vehicle. The course addresses various teaching techniques, including theoretical lessons, practical sessions and activities group-based project. Students develop their linguistic and communication abilities, as well as the specific vocabulary of these fields.
