History of the programme
Oxbridge Applications has a proven, 21-year-long track record of significantly increasing the success rates of itsapplicants. Those making use of its Premier Service are almost three times as successful as the average Oxbridge applicant. Each year, Oxbridge Applications supports up to 200 students privately on our Premier Service as well as welcoming hundreds of students to our London Admissions Test and Interview Preparation Days.

With its network of over 2,400 Oxbridge-graduate tutors, Oxbridge Applications can find you a mentor who has studied your subject at your chosen university to help develop you academically beyond the requirements of A-Level. Due to its large network we can also match you with a tutor who will suit your personality and learning style.

Oxbridge Applications is the only consultancy that can provide tailored support at every stage of the application, rather than just an Oxbridge interview course, and our up-to-date research on Admissions Tests and interview questions allows the most accurate mock interview and test preparation experience.

About the courses

The programme is available for every Oxbridge subject including Law, Medicine, Maths, Natural Sciences, Computer Science, PPE and Economics. Students will graduate from the programme with a finished Personal Statement, ready to submit for their 2020 Oxbridge application and excellent interview skills. Students can begin the programme as soon as their Summer Holiday begins in July 2020 but places can be reserved in advance from March 2020.

  • An Initial Private Consultation with Oxbridge Applications: private consultations will be led by a senior Oxbridge advisor within Oxbridge Applications, and will help students to confirm course and University choice, go over the main concerns they have in the application process, and allow us to learn about the student in order to match them with the perfect mentor.
  • 8 Weekly Hour-long Mentoring Sessions in your Chosen Subject: mentoring sessions last an hour and happen once a week, emulating the Oxbridge tutorial system. Mentors, assigned by Oxbridge Applications, will guide on extra reading, help explore new topics of interest, ask unusual and testing questions, and encourage students to develop specialisms beyond the school syllabus. Each session is followed by a written report.
  • 4 Hour-long Subject-specific Mock Interviews: in the final 4 weeks of the Summer School, students have four hour-long mock interviews, each led by a different subject-specific Oxbridge graduate. Our expert, highly-trained tutors will conduct formal interviews, followed by feeding back development points to improve your interview technique.
  • 2 Face-to-face Personal Statement Review Meetings: to ensure that students demonstrate their true potential in this crucial document, we review 3 separate drafts of each Summer School student’s personal statement in-depth, including 2 face-to-face meetings, and an additional written review. Our students will also have access to Personal Statements from successful past applicants.
  • 1 Interview With a Former Oxbridge Admissions Tutor: students finish their Summer School with the closest simulation of the real thing – an hour spent one-on-one with a former Oxbridge admissions tutor in their subject area, who previously were responsible for making decisions for Oxford or Cambridge university. Each session features a full mock interview as well as verbal and written feedback.

By the end of the programme, participants will have made significant progress in their subject engagement and knowledge, built academic skills valuable for school and University, developed a fantastic personal statement, become more compelling interviewees, and will feel much more confident about tackling the admissions process ahead.
