About the School

Claremont School is located at 30 minutes from Hastings and 2 hours away from London. Close to the school, is the Bodiam Castle, built in the 14th century. The school has an impresive campus, dotated with a awimming pool wih 6 lanes, modern classrooms, dance studio, a modern center for Sixth Form.

English Companions

The summer camp participants will have the chance to befriend English children of their age who will spend a part of their summer vacation at Claremont. They will take part in the afternoon activities fact that will help the international students improve their language skills and get to know better aspects of the brithish culture.Therefor, the participants will make new friends not only from England but also from other countries.

Accomodation

The school has two buildings and the transportation to school is provided. Clyde House is situated at about 3 km from school. Most of the rooms are individual with private bathrom but there are also some rooms with two beds.The Pyke dorm is located at about 10 km from the school. The rooms have 2 to 5 beds with a shared bathroom. There are available a few rooms with private bathroom.   

Sport

The school's excellent sport base includes voleyball, basketball, bootball, netball and hockey courts, a golf track, swimming pool and other facilities. The students also have access to the school's dance studio and theater hall. The English children who will be in school during the summer vacation will take part everyday in the leisure activities. There will be sportive and recreational activities, team games and walking tours where the participats will have the chance to use the language knowledge they have accuulated. At night, they will take part in different games and competitions: fashion shows, disco, quizzes, pool party and talent shows.

Sport Academy and Art

For and extra fee, students can sign up for classes with qualified instructors that will take place two afternoons a week. The activities are suitable for students with beginner and intermediate English level. The classes will take place only if there is a minimum number of people who want to attend. They can choose only one sport or activity a week. The options are: adventure sports, basketball (July 7, 14, 21, 28; Aug. 4) pop dance (July 7, 14, 21, 28), performing arts (July 7, 21; August 4) football, golf (July 7, 14, 21, 28), horse riding, photography (July 7, 14, 21, 28).

Trips

There will be two half-day trips. On Wednesdays, activities such as visiting castles, parks, museums, climbing or bowling will be chosen. On Saturday the students will go to a full-day trip to London, where they will visit: British Museum, Buckingham Palace, London Zoo, London Eye, Westminster Abbey and others. On Sundays they will visit neighbour cities such as Brighton, Chichester or Worthing. They can also choose to go to the beach or go shopping.

  • courses designed to improve students' language skills (grammar, vocabulary)
  • courses designed to improve students' speaking skills through their participation to different extracurricular activities (orientation, treasure hunt, mystery-solving)
