About the School
The academic summer courses organized at Chelsea Independent College offer participants the opportunity to explore their favourite areas and to get acquainted with the subjects studied while improving their English level. The College is located in a modern building close to Fulham Broadway London Underground Station. It has 24 classrooms, 4 laboratories, 2 computer rooms, digital photo studio, art studio.

Accommodation
Students are accommodated in camps and at Princess Beatrice Fulham Palace, located within walking distance of the school. It provides constant surveillance, Wi-Fi, laundry. The rooms are single or double, with bathroom. Students aged 14 to 15 years are accommodated in double rooms. Full board is ensured on Monday to Friday and late breakfast and dinner Saturday and Sunday.

Free Time and Excursions
In the evening, activities such as movie evenings, shopping, boat parties, theatre visits and famous tourist attractions, sports, and arts are available. Students have leisure time between 16:30 and 18:00. Weekend excursions are organized in London (London Eye, Oxford Street).

Types of Courses
All programs include 16 hours of English with an focus on the language skills required for the chosen academic course. In addition to basic reading, writing, listening and speaking skills, learners enrich their vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation, by working in small groups. Courses last for 2 weeks.

  • Information Engineering and Technology(June 30 - August 10): the course combines academic English with engineering fields such as: automotive engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering. The program is also focused on information technology, especially programming and artificial intelligence. Courses are taught by industry professionals. Trainees visit the engineering faculties of Imperial College, UCL, Cambridge. Educational visits are organized at The Museum at the Royal Institution, the Kirkuk Testing Museum.
  • Medicine (June 30 - August 10): the program is suitable for those who want to develop their knowledge in medicine and improve their English language level. Students will have the opportunity to visit important medical institutions, prestigious universities such as UCL and Imperial, but also take part in seminars and debates with professionals in the field or communicate with their pacients.
  • Law, Political Studies & International Relations (June 30 - July 27): the course has a complete theoretical component through case studies and debates in which the acquired knowledge can be used. They will be invited to hold lectures by lawyers and renowned politicians, and visits to the Parliament Palace, tribunals and universities relevant to this area will be organized. Students will also learn how to prepare for admission to UK universities where they will study these areas.
  • Business & Finance (Julne 30 - August 10): the aim of this course is to encourage participants to apply economics and mathematics previously accumulated and to understand how they can be applied in the real world of business. It covers topics such as: marketing, accounting, market research, financial management, entrepreneurship, business plans, micro and macro economy, etc. The program includes visits to financial institutions, the Bank of England Museum, the Stock Exchange, as well as to renowned universities like LSE and UCL.
  • Art and Design (June 30 - August 10): the program focuses on developing the skills and knowledge needed for a successful career in the creative field. Includes hours dedicated to preparing the portfolio required for admission to top universities, there are studied techniques from different areas such as drawing, collage, photography, animation, sculpture. Visiting exhibitions and art galleries, as well as universities focused on such programs, such as: Martins or Chelsea College of Arts.
  • Acting and Theater (June 30-  July 27): the course is a practical one. Specific skills are developed, such as: trust, ability to express complex concepts, ability to capture public attention, etc. The course includes workshops with actors, dictionaries and physical movement coaches. Prestigious universities and acting schools as well as theater productions are presented.
